Think positive! Just do it! Sounds easy and it is. Negative thinking can seem like it is easier to do than positive thinking. Many people tend to believe that positive thinking requires more effort and feel that negative thinking is easier because it’s something that seems to come “naturally”. Well keep reading and I will explain how to think positive and how to get rid of negative thoughts.

Your predominant mental attitude reflects how you view the world. If your mental attitude is negative, more than likely you’re experiencing many problems in your life. The situations that you’re in every day, or the problems you’re facing, are mirroring the negative attitude you carry around with you. Negativity brings on more negativity.

Effects of Negative Thinking

People who have a negative outlook on life constantly repel positive things. Not because they want to, but because the human mind does not “judge” whether something is positive or negative, so what your mind sees, hears and feels is constantly negative. Negative energy attracts more negative energy. This is really evident when there is something new to try or a new way of doing something. Often, one would rather stay with what they’re comfortable with. Things are fine the way they are, so why change it?

Are things really fine the way they are? Of course, not. But that is your negative thinking doing what it does best. It is like having a wall between your negative thoughts and positive thoughts. As soon as the positive starts climbing the wall, the negative reinforcements arrive. What if I fail? What if it takes too much of my time? What if others think I am crazy for trying this? These are the first few questions that come to mind when deciding whether or not to go ahead with a plan, strategy or goal just like starting a career in internet marketing.

Society has a way of contributing to the negative way of thinking. We feel safe when we don’t have to “change”. Remember that old phrase, “Got to keep up with the Jones’s?” Guess what I realized? The Jones’ were in a bad financial shape as the rest of us. They were not trying something new; they were settling for a negative status quo.

Here’s a crazy thought: What if you actually try something new? And what if you do really, really well at it? Those were the questions I asked myself right before I decided to try something new with internet marketing. For the first time in my entire career, I let the positive mind break down that negative wall and I haven’t looked back.

Effects of Positive Thinking

Individuals who think positive and a have a positive outlook on life are aware that the mind has energy. It is not a good or bad type of energy, but our thoughts develop whether good or bad things will or will not happen.

If you have negative thoughts, you need to learn how to replace it with positive thoughts. If you don’t believe you can, you are still a victim of your own mind. Believe that you will succeed at something new and you always will.

The negative outlook you have, if you actively work on it, you can change it. Don’t let your mind hold you back by thinking negatively. The human mind has power. What is even more surprising is that you can control that power within you. That power allows you to control everything in your life. Will there be setbacks? Sure. But, your positive mindset prepares you for handling those moments. Internet marketing is a challenging career, to say the least. Come to think of it, for every three setbacks, there is one really big success. And that success is very, very delicious my friend. So, be positive, think positive and act positive.

How to Think Positive

  1. Be Your Own Best Friend.

Most people give better advice to their friends than they do themselves. What negative things are you telling yourself and would you say that to your best friend? Start thinking about positive solutions to every negative thought that enters your mind. Pretty soon the only things that start to enter your mind are positive thoughts. Be kind to yourself without criticizing and telling yourself you can’t do something, because in actuality you can do ANYTHING you set your mind to. Look yourself in the mirror and say “Hi Best Friend” and give yourself positive support and encouragement.

  2. Keep a Gratitude Journal

List ten things that you are grateful for right now! Being grateful helps you appreciate what you already have. It shines light on all of the positive things you have in your life right now. Be grateful for everything you have now and more will follow.

How to Get Rid of Negative Thoughts

  1. Thought Replacement

One surefire way to get rid of negative thoughts and to think positive is by learning the art of thought replacement. Every time you think about failing, replace that thought by thinking about how you can succeed. Visualize yourself as being successful instead of thinking that you will fail. Your thoughts are your own, so why not make them positive thoughts that make you feel good and excited instead of bad?

  2. Meditation and/or Yoga

Negative thoughts are also negative energy and you have to get rid of both. Take a yoga class, do yoga at home, the beach or a park. Yoga takes your focus away from your negative thoughts and brings your attention to your breath, it releases the negative energy that you hold on to and revitalizes your mind, body and spirit. I also suggest meditating for at least 30 minutes every day. It’s very relaxing, eases your mind and it will help turn all of your negative thoughts into positive solutions. It is also very relaxing, which helps to  ease your mind. Stay present, don’t worry about unnecessary things, think positive and positive things will happen.

Your positive mindset is there, just let it start coming to the surface. Let go of all that negativity because you really don’t need it! Also, feel free to check out my other blog post about How to Maintain a Positive Attitude.

I started listening to and meditating with Louise Hay in 2013 and I have never looked back. I hadnt realised how negative my mind had become until then…Mind you I had also been a member of a Prayer group that focused on lack, poverty, all kinds of negative stuff…and it all kinda messed with my mental positive vibe! I am glad I found Meditation, Affirmations and self healing. #Gratitude!

Yes me too. Love the part about being your own best friend. Because after all if we can’t be our best friend, who can we really be a friend to? Thanks Natalia.
